IBOM COLLEGE OF NATURAL MEDICINE GETS INTERNATIONAL AFFILIATION

Health (TSN) The Ibom College of Natural Medicine located at No. 3 Stadium Avenue off Obio Imo Street, Uyo in Akwa Ibom State has been affiliated with the University of Southern California.

The affiliation has been described as a good development and a huge milestone recorded by the Uyo based medical college.

In a formal presentation of the certificate of affiliation to the college community recently, the Chairman of the Governing Council of the College, Prof Sam Akpan said he was delighted that the affiliation process was successful and certificate issued.
health (TSN) He expressed optimism that the affiliation with the international University will afford students of the college opportunity to further their studies abroad.

Prof Akpan hinted that the affiliation came with what he termed as beautiful offers and will also connect the college to the international limelight.

According to him, " the affiliation certificate came with so many offers as I would describe, like the scholarship form which has complete scholarship scheme, as we have agreed in our MOU, the scholarship is strictly meant for Post Graduate Diploma students from Ibom College of Natural Medicine".

The Chairman of the Council maintained that what would be required from students will be his or her international passport while other things such as VISA, travelling expenses, accommodation and at least 200 dollars studying fees would be provided by the University of Southern California, emphasising the need for Akwa Ibom people and Nigerians to take advantage of Ibom College of Natural Medicine by enrolling in the school so that they can benefit from the scheme.
Health (TSN) He used the medium to appeal to the Akwa Ibom State government to encourage the study of Integrative Medicine which Ibom College of Natural Medicine being the first in Akwa Ibom State and the South South.

He said, "we should be involved in government programme, I want the government of Akwa Ibom State to be involved by sponsoring our indigenes to study Natural Medicine".

In their separate comments, the Provost, Prof Emmanuel Efiok, the Registrar, Dr (Mrs) Esther U. Etang and students of the college also expressed excitement for the affiliation.

They gave kudos to the Governing Council of the Institution for gaining international recognition through the affiliation of the college.
